A Japanese Bronze Vase of flared form on a short foot, the sides cast with Oni-head handles, decorated in relief, kebori, silver, copper and gilding with a sparrow amid the branches of a flowering peony, inscribed to the base "Dai Nihon Meiji nen sei" and a further inscription, Meiji Period
