An impressive French 18th Century, Louis XV period bracket clock, having wonderful Rococo style gilded ormolu scrolling mounts. the caddy top with a Ho Ho bird among foliage, the waisted case with glazed panels to the sides and hand painted flowers. The white enamel clock face with Roman numerals, the eight day duration movement strikes on the hour and half hour. Mounted on a matching wall bracket.
Signed to the face. CAUSARD HGR DU ROY SUIVT LA COUR' Causard was the clock maker to the King.
